Probably the most famous interwar work of Víšek. The first modern sacred building in Czechoslovakia.
Despite winning the competition (
second place was awarded to B. Fuchs), the author had to defend the radical form for two years.
A purely purist building with pronounced Dutch and French influences. Víšek utilized the unpleasantly sloping terrain here, which results in the object being oriented longitudinally to the street, and the assembly hall being accessible from an elevated entrance terrace. On the ground floor, there is a lecture hall, accessible directly from the street. The clear and logical arrangement of the interior space is reflected in the exterior appearance in the asymmetrical white cube composition, accentuated by a slender tower (which does not appear in the competition designs).
The building then cost 1,570,000 CZK.
