Implementation of interiors in the most significant spaces of the Constitutional Court building in Brno. This includes the foyer, the assembly hall, and the meeting rooms, along with their accompanying facilities.
The main goal of the project was to achieve harmony between the building's internal and external environment, so that newly created elements would not disrupt the original historical context, but rather complement and enhance it. The new elements are designed in contemporary style, made from high-quality materials, and feature fine craftsmanship with careful detail.
The reconstruction of the assembly hall, which is among the most significant parts of the building's interior, was particularly challenging. The space had been partially repaired in the past, but insufficient maintenance and inappropriate modifications created problems that needed to be addressed. It was important to return the hall to its original appearance, restore the original spatial layout, and at the same time ensure modern functions that meet the current needs of the Constitutional Court. The artistic value of the hall was respected, and all restoration work was carried out with care and attention to detail. Damaged surfaces, carpentry elements, and other artifacts were restored to regain their original beauty and expression. The descending shape of the assembly hall was changed back to the original continuous aisles with flat surfaces, and a new concave stage was created. A high-quality wooden floor was laid with a new pattern corresponding to the scale and historical character of the hall. The skylight in the main hall and the western gallery was restored. The repair included fixing the metal structures, including replacing their horizontal glazing and installing large-scale shading to prevent direct sunlight from entering through the skylight and to reduce overheating in the hall space. The main lighting of the hall was entirely redesigned with spotlights hidden in the attic space above the skylight.
The western gallery has become a new usable space, which had been covered in previous years and was inaccessible. The gallery now benefits from a unique location with a view of the assembly hall and serves as a space for receiving distinguished visitors.
One of the most significant elements is our designed collection of original crystal chandeliers, featuring common characteristic elements such as a uniform surface finish, consistent shape and size characteristics of the crystal baubles, uniform color, and uniform lighting characteristics. The chandeliers are designed to harmoniously blend into the overall appearance and character of the building. The collection included hanging, standing, and wall-mounted versions of chandeliers with a variable number of crystal baubles. These chandeliers were specifically designed for individual rooms and applications to complement their atmosphere and create a unique aesthetic.
