Showcasing artistic objects with history in a modern and original interior was the client's task. The vaulted spaces in the heart of downtown Prague have become a specific area, a showroom, and an art store.
The design works with materials, bending stainless steel into delicate curves or using it as a building block. The minimalist purity and airiness are supported by the omnipresent glass. The interior is a play of shapes and optical illusions. The light floor attracts your eyes with tiny sparkling particles and hints in royal blue, specific to this design.
The heterogeneous spaces of the historic building are connected by lines of stainless steel furniture, a technical building kit created custom. The entrance hall is vaulted, and an elegant stainless steel exhibition pedestal wraps around its perimeter. It provides space and does not distract from the exhibited objects, serving as a long catwalk for creating still lifes and compositions of artworks. Preserved niches are filled with glass shelves or exhibition aquariums. Above everything hangs the original noble glass chandelier.
The space at the back of the store draws from the theme of old cabinets with art. Stainless steel boxes on both sides of the room are lined with royal blue velvet. Glass shelves float within the boxes, specifically anchored, creating yet another series of perfectly crafted details. The optical illusion and hidden workspace with a background are concealed behind a large mirror, which enlarges and multiplies the displayed art.
