End-terrace house in Prague 6

End-terrace house in Prague 6
The house is built on the edge of a built-up area adjacent to the Divoká Šárka valley. It is the final house in a row of buildings that stretch unilaterally along the entire street. Many renovations of individual row houses have contributed to the heterogeneous appearance of the entire street. Although a spatial study is in effect for the area, it unfortunately only defines the height of individual buildings, and therefore, one must expect even greater fragmentation of the street in the future. Access to the plot is from the northeast, and the garden facade thus has a southwest orientation, which is optimal.
On the plot stood the original house, which, due to its age and inadequate layout, had to be completely torn down and a new house built. However, it precisely respects the dimensions and placement of the original house.

The house has a very simple rectangular two-story mass, complemented by a single-story garage lining the northern side of the plot. This solution creates a pleasant nook for an intimate terrace.
From the street side, the house is unobtrusive, and the simple white mass is perforated only by windows, which have a vertical character on the upper floor supplemented by practical shutters. The windows on the lower floor are horizontal to maintain privacy.
The garden facade features a dominant shading element through an arched curve, which extends from the flat facade towards the neighboring house. It terminates at its boundary and aligns with the width of that neighboring building. Additionally, it provides shading for the parents' bedroom.

The interior layout of the house is very clear and pragmatic. All living rooms, except for the office, are oriented towards the garden and the sun. The technical facilities, wardrobe, and bathrooms are oriented towards the street.
We enter the house on the ground floor through a covered entrance next to the garage. The entrance area leads to a wardrobe and then into a small corridor with doors to the bathroom/sauna and the guest room. There are also stairs and a toilet under its upper arm. The rest of the lower floor belongs to the living zone with a kitchen, living room, and dining area. From the kitchen, we can also access the technical room.
The upper floor consists of a bedroom with a large bright wardrobe, two children's rooms, an office with a view of the valley, and a large bathroom.
The attached garage structure has space for one car and plenty of storage space.
