Masaryk Square, the second most significant space in modern Hradec Králové after Ulrich Square, stretches between blocks of buildings away from traffic noise. It has a triangular layout, and its northwest side is characterized by the facades of buildings designed by J. Gočár (1922).
In front of this monumental architectural backdrop, a monument to President T. G. Masaryk, sculpted by O. Gutfreund, was placed in 1926. Thus, the square also serves as a peaceful memorial space.
In 2002, it became part of the pedestrian zone that begins at Baťkov Square and is formed by the two adjacent streets, Čelakovského and Švehlova.
