The building was realized on the site of the original parking lot and municipal market, where pedestrians weaved between cars in the parking lot and walked under an ugly shelter made of prefabricated truss construction typically used for military buildings. In the area of the original asphalt parking lot, a completely new pedestrian access path was created, clearly defining the entrance to the City Heritage Reservation of Nový Jičín. A slightly elevated green area, delineated by the original stone wall (a remnant of the prison area fencing) and a new stone wall, creates a space for rest under a trio of newly planted mature trees, along with installed urban furniture (benches, bins, drinking fountains, etc.). The passage, together with the market, is equipped with a number of lights that give the market a distinctive appearance even in the evening hours. The roofing of the market is designed with a pre-tensioned textile membrane on a lightweight steel structure. It consists of a system of several funnels and pagodas. At the main axis of the passage, an imaginary gateway is formed by a pair of funnels in an almost medieval spirit. The surfaces of the passage and the market are paved with a combination of large-format granite slabs and granite cubes. The single-story service building of the market is functionally and volumetrically divided into two parts. The left part of the building contains sanitary facilities for vendors, while the right part houses three sales stalls. A prominent artistic element is the suspended facade made of cement-bonded particle board in a combination of two colors. The cladding of the transformer station visually and materially interacts with the service building of the market. This cladding not only modifies the facade of the original transformer station but also designates a separate space for the placement of containers for sorted and municipal waste from the market's operations.
