The history of sports is colorful, marked by indomitable will and chance, just as the creative process is often accompanied by it. Crucial moments in the modern history of fitness are captured by the "wall of faded glory" of the first functional training club in Prague. Individual milestones are personified stories, and the timeline ends aptly – with entry into the active part of the club.
1900: The course of events was turned upside down by a performance of the Prague circus of Mr. Jakl in Kamhajk near Kolín, whose main character was the gigantic black man James Palmare. The director, as usual, challenged those present to a wrestling contest for prizes. A slender eighteen-year-old young man boldly stepped onto the podium, and within a few minutes, the wrestler was lying on his back. Already in 1900, Gustav Frištenský participated for the first time in international competitions in Prague, winning not only in wrestling but also in weightlifting and even the discus throw.
1969: At thirteen, he was engaged in football. When he found out that his personal achievements received little recognition, he lost interest in the sport. Thus, he broadened his sporting repertoire to include swimming, shot put, and javelin. Only when the coach sent the team to the gym did he see for the first time in his life how bodybuilders' enormous muscles were straining under the weight, almost tearing through the skin. He senses what he is truly called to do. At the Mr. Olympia competition in 1969, Arnold Schwarzenegger was last thrown off by the level of competition, and it was also the last time Sergio Oliva took the title from him.
2013: The design and realization of the Powerfit club in Prague tested the skills and steel nerves of heavyweight architectural wrestlers.
2014: Head coach Honza became not only a proponent of TRX but also of terminologies that were previously foreign to him and a catalog of new perspectives on spatial perception. He does not hesitate to immerse club visitors into the principles of clean lines. The architects approached the refinement of their austere figures, which sparked an extraordinary avalanche of interest in functional training among the enthusiasts of this profession.
Note: TRX =

Resistance
Exercise = exercises for full-body resistance.
