The plot in the center of Milovice, surrounded by a forest park along a quiet road, evoked the atmosphere of a forest land that we did not want to lose due to the new construction of a house. This first fundamental assumption was followed by a series of requirements and local regulations, which ultimately shaped the house into its final form. Thanks to the owners' clear articulation of their wishes, we hit the mark with the first version of their dream home.

The house had to be single-storey and barrier-free. The main living space was to be airy and directly connected to the garden with a pool. The bedroom area was to include a walk-in closet, two bathrooms, and a room for children and grandchildren. A covered parking space was sufficient for the car, but an important feature was a storage area easily accessible from the outside. Natural materials that blend into the environment were preferred.

Local regulations only allowed for a sloped roof, with a mild incline of about 30 degrees. This ultimately determined the basic proportions of the house, including its structure. The simple masonry building is supported by trussed rafters. The shape of the roof is also reflected in the interior, where the ceilings of the rooms follow the slope of the rafters. This gives the entire interior, together with the opening to the garden, a distinctive character. The dominant larch wood on the facade was contrasted with anthracite window frames of aluminum windows and an anthracite metal roof. Everything was designed to ensure that the house blended seamlessly with the surrounding mature trees.
