This generous space was created by combining two attic apartments that underwent a rather unsuccessful renovation in the early 1990s. The focal point of the entire apartment becomes the living kitchen, which, due to its placement, serves as a communication hub, a meeting place, visible during most movements throughout the apartment. The dominant material in this area is cement screed, which allows the spacious area to stand out well. In the living room, leading to the sunlit terrace, Merbau mosaic was used as a softening element, which also appears on the kitchen worktop and the dining table, designed for the client as a solitaire, connecting the individual parts of the lower floor in terms of material. The upper floor, with private bedrooms and access to another roof terrace, is connected by a staircase, which we could afford to make monolithic given the size of the space, and place a technical room within it. The massive cubic form of the staircase is separated at the ascent by a light steel landing from the upper floors. The glass railing is anchored discreetly throughout to highlight its lightness. The residential elevator opens directly into the entrance hall of the apartment, further enhancing the comfort available to the client.
