This is a partial reconstruction of an apartment from the 1930s in a residential building in Holešovice.
The apartment retains original elements - such as built-in shoe racks, storage spaces, etc. In the 1990s, the bathroom, toilet, and hallway underwent a less successful renovation. About eight years after we moved in, it became necessary to modify the already finishing bathroom, etc. Therefore, we approached a partial reconstruction, which specifically concerned the bathroom, toilet, and hallway. We decided to unify the colors of the apartment; light and dark gray were chosen as the colors - the color is amazing in that it throws a different shade in every daylight - sometimes brown, sometimes purple, and at other times completely gray. It excellently highlights the original oak parquet flooring from the 1930s. For the dominant material for the bathroom, toilet, and entrance hall, we chose a cement screed.
In the bathroom, the layout was adjusted; the original bathtub was replaced by a large shower cubicle, a niche for the washing machine and dryer was created, opposite a niche with shelves, so the bathroom area itself is very simple. Above the sink, a mirror in a rough wooden frame stands out. We searched for a suitable towel holder for a long time to be long enough to reach into the shower - in the end, we chose a cable curtain rod from Ikea.
In the toilet, Agape accessories are used - a cable system for the paper towel dispenser, a toilet paper holder, a brush holder, and a mirror. A dark gray was chosen as the additional color to the screed in the toilet, highlighting the white sanitary ware.
A large mirror was placed in the entrance hall. In the corner, "Flying hooks" hang from the ceiling, thematically complemented by a sticker from Domestic. Glass sliding doors on exposed stainless steel tracks were installed in the bathroom and toilet.
The bedroom remained unchanged except for the painting.
The living room came to life according to our creed - that everyone should furnish their apartment according to what they really do....we watch movies..... so we replaced the original classic sofa with loungers that have multiple uses - they can be converted into a large bed for overnight guests. Another option is a "corner" sofa for larger gatherings, such as family.
Shelves for DVDs were made on the wall with the TV.
