The theater has undergone an extensive renovation, which not only changed the location of the main entrance but also completely transformed its internal layout. The new main entrance and café on Panská Street have revitalized the historic center, especially in the evening hours. High-quality public space on Jiráskova Street and practical pedestrian connections between Jiráskova and Panská Streets have elevated this part of the city.

The theater building has a rich history dating back to the 14th century, and after ongoing renovations, it has served as a theater space since 1932. The renovation has provided a new dignified entrance that connects to the square and has become fully accessible. With the addition of northern and southern anterooms, connected outside of the main hall, the building has gained new functional elements. The orchestra pit has been restored, the hall has gained a greater elevation for better visibility, and more comfortable seating. New dressing rooms, a rehearsal room, a costume storage area, a small hall for more intimate performances, and part of the ground floor transformed into a café have been newly built.

In order to increase capacity, the hall's roof has been raised by one floor, which allowed for the addition of a second balcony. After the renovation, the hall now accommodates 371 people. On the ground floor of the four-story building, we find the entrance areas, the theater café, and technical facilities. On the next floor, there are both anterooms and the main hall, while one floor above are the actors' dressing rooms, rehearsal rooms, and a small attic hall for school programs and smaller groups of people.

The main entrance from Panská Street leads to a two-story foyer with a prominent spiral staircase and an artwork from the glass studio of Jitka Skuhravá. The side entrance from Jiráskova Street has a similar combination of exposed concrete and large glass areas as the main entrance, while the adjacent anteroom serves as a multifunctional space for chamber performances, concerts, or lectures. During construction, a staircase leading to the basement was discovered and restored using salvaged stone steps. The original wooden ceiling beams in the upper foyer have been restored and now form an impressive ceiling structure in the southern anteroom. Overall, the new theater combines history with modernity, genius loci with contemporary technologies, offers representative spaces, and serves as a significant cultural center in Česká Lípa.
