The house is located in a residential block of First Republic villas. The original family house was removed and replaced by a new building that more or less respects the volumetric solution of the original structure, the building line, and the level of the crown cornice.
The house is a massive two-story prism with a basement and a recessed top floor, which opens into a smaller ornamental garden with a raised salla terrena. It could be said that it is a family house with a single housing unit of 3+kk, which the owner currently uses as an office. The top floor was originally intended to be a wellness area, but considering the generous view, the owner ultimately set up a study here.
Spatially, the house works with the principle of so-called raumplan – the rooms have different ceiling heights related to their purpose and are divided into multiple levels. Another important aspect is the effort to bring sunlight into the interior from all sides, aided by generously glazed areas of the facades and a skylight above the staircase core.
A characteristic feature of the house is the cladding made of elongated ceramic strips in a light gray tone (Petersen Tegl Kolumba 51) combined with a darker shade, which helps enhance their plasticity.
