Forest slope, view of the tree crowns, fencing, pit, birds, doe, and falling sun rays. Asphalt forest access road on the upper side of the property. Single-story from the street, two-story from the garden. Cars parking on the roof. The central stairwell area (trunk) connects the west and east wings, day and night sections. The main idea became the perspective and descent into the landscape. Green and red, complementary colors. House, creature as part of the forest.
Current StateThe property has a sloping character and is located in Jevany in the Dubina section.
Access to the property, which is situated in a wooded area, is from an asphalt forest road located at the upper side of the property. The planned construction of the family house is situated in an open space with the nearest neighboring house about 18 meters to the east.
PropertyThe property is rectangular in shape, sloping from north to south. It consists of two plots, numbers 298/10 and 610, with a total area of 3027 m². The original building located on plot 610 has been removed, and this space is designated for future development. After the building was demolished, a pit remained on the property with a height difference of about 3.6 meters from the edge of the road. There are no mature trees or protected shrubs or plants on the property designated for construction. The property is fenced.
UrbanismThe plot is located in a forest environment with surrounding solitary family house developments in a part of the municipality named Dubina. This part of the municipality of Jevany is also characterized by functionalist buildings. For this reason, flat roofs are also permitted in the area, aside from sloping roofs.
One of the determining factors was the placement of the building on the property, which derives from the slope of the plot and the adjacent street situated at the upper part of the property. The house is set back approximately 5 meters from the street (3 from the property boundary). This creates a generous entrance space that also provides parking for visitors. The orientation takes into account the cardinal directions, the morphology of the plot, and the client's requirements.
ArchitectureFrom the north side, the building is embedded into the slope. From the street, the house appears to be single-story, while from the garden it is two-story. The main idea became the perspective and descent into the landscape.
The central stairwell area (trunk) connects the west and east wings. The family house is divided into 5 basic sections: central part – entrance area, west wing – spaces above the day part, day part, and east wing – roof parking, night part.
Entrance SpaceIt creates the central part of the entire building. Immediately upon entering, it offers a view into the landscape. Dominant is the direct staircase with a curved wall, which connects the upper and lower parts and conveys the impression of descending into the forest. The length of this part is determined by the number of steps required to overcome the height of 3.5 meters. On the first floor, this part further includes a space for a stroller, a cloakroom, and a bathroom. In the lower part, there are technical spaces, a kitchen pantry, and a toilet.
East Wing – Roof ParkingThe entrance space is accessible through the roof parking, which provides space for 3 cars, bicycles, garbage bins, and a terrace with access to the roof. The terrace is covered by a sawtooth roof. Three prongs represent parking spaces, with one main entrance to the building.
West Wing – Spaces Above the Day PartThis part contains a storage room, a spacious room serving as an office, a guest room, a workshop, or a gym, and an open living room space.
West Wing – Day PartThis is the shared space for the kitchen, dining room, and living room. It is a generous space maximally connected with the exterior. The living room is designed across two floors.
East Wing – Night PartIt is located beneath the parking. It is connected to the day part by a shared hallway. There is a master bedroom with a dressing room and bathroom. Additionally, there is a children's room with the option for a future partition. The children's room is accessible through a shared cloakroom, which is visually connected with the exterior.
