Family House Zbraslav

The family house is designed to maximally eliminate the influence of the busy street and to take advantage of the views of the surroundings.
Due to the slope of E.P. Street, the entrance to the house is designed from the northeast side of the plot; there is also a double garage in the terrain cut, which is directly connected to the house. The entrance is from the municipal land, and the area in front of the house will be modified with a combination of paving, grass, and newly planted tall greenery (one new tree and several bushes). The existing staircase on the sidewalk is left in its current form.
The northern side of the house consists only of a dark wall with three slits. The wall is in a gentle arc, connecting to the neighboring house and directing towards the northeast corner of the plot, where it is already 6.4 meters high due to the slope of the street, creating a prominent end to the block of houses. It is terminated 1.5 meters from the boundary of the plot. In the overhanging part of the wall at the entrance, there is an opening at driver’s eye level (ensuring visibility of any pedestrians). Approximately in the middle, a wooden block of the bedroom with a study protrudes above the wall. The windows facing the street are equipped with opaque glass (inner glass is wired glass). The overall impression of the northern street facade is very closed and austere, also elegant due to the use of dark mosaic stone plaster.
Highly contrasting to the complete opening of the house to the garden. Here, the glazed areas are maximized, and the ground floor space is connected to the garden, shaded and protected from rain by a 1.5 m roof overhang. From the bedroom and study on the upper floor, there is already an unobstructed view of the surroundings and the Vltava valley.
The existing garage in the southwest part of the plot will be faced with wood matching the cladding of the 2nd floor beam. A wooden pergola with a deck and an outdoor fireplace will be added to the garage. The garage will be used as a workshop and storage for garden supplies.
