Disposition — This is a reconstruction of a two-storey family house with an area of 400 m². The ground floor features a very generous entrance hall, from which you can access a spacious living room, kitchen, and dining area. The kitchen can also be accessed from the garage through a pantry, allowing you to store your purchases neatly along the way. Additionally, there are two home offices for the homeowner and a guest room on this floor. On the second floor, there is a private area consisting of three apartments. The master bedroom, with access to the terrace, includes an adjacent bathroom, a separate toilet, and a walk-in closet. Each child has their own apartment, closet, bathroom, and toilet.
Concept, Color Scheme, and Materials — Given that the homeowner is an art collector who owns a gallery, art is undeniably an integral part of the entire house, becoming a literally dominant element. Our concept was clear: to create a neutral background on which the art can stand out. We worked with concrete gray finishes on the floors and walls. A more pronounced finish is used in the kitchen, which is unusually printed with a pattern. This gray and white base is complemented by natural variegated oak wood. The custom-built furniture is primarily made of lacquered MDF. In the bathrooms, we repeat this approach, working with gray concrete finishes combined with gray ceramic tiles with patterns. On the second floor, we switch to a light three-layer oak wooden floor to provide owners with a warmer feeling of comfort. Handles, railings, fittings, curtain rods, lamps, pedestals, window frames, etc., are, as is customary for us, made of black steel.
Kitchen — The tall kitchen cabinet set is finished with a gray concrete finish. It includes built-in appliances and a wine cooler. The adjoining wall conceals doors with a hidden frame from Dorsis, leading to the pantry, which become almost invisible thanks to the patterned finish. The kitchen island is designed from natural variegated oak veneer. The worktop is made of thin matte stainless steel, which has high protective properties. The island features an integrated extractor hood in the stovetop, with controls located on the front of the island. This detail stands out thanks to the handle-less system. The chamfered edges create an illusion of a subtle thickness of material, minimizing the weight of the kitchen as a whole.
Dining Room — The centerpiece of the dining room is undoubtedly the massive Cattelan Scorpio table, whose geometric base stands out on an original Persian rug. Up to eight to ten people can be seated at the dining table. They will enjoy comfort on chairs from Carl Hansen – Wishbone. The striking lighting is from Zeitraum NOON 7. Along the wall, there is a lacquered bookshelf with asymmetrical divisions that provides space for more personal art pieces of the homeowner.
Living Room — The furniture wall from the dining room continues around the corner in the form of low cabinets under the suspended TV. The dark furniture contrasts with the cladding of floor planks in the decor of natural oak. An unconventional element is the custom-made sliding barn-style doors. The large sofa offers seating for the entire family. Large windows are covered with linen curtains featuring a gradual color gradient. Ambient lighting is provided by Brokis, while technical lighting is from Delta Light. The armchair with a footrest is from Tonet.
Office — The gray furniture wall in the men's office is made of lacquered MDF and is combined with oak veneer. The desk was made in line with the design of the bookshelf. The office also features a sofa, a projector with a projection screen, and custom sound system.
Main Bedroom & Walk-in Closet — The living areas in the private section of the house have glued three-layer wooden floors in oak decor. The bedroom has built-in wardrobes from lacquered MDF in light gray, complemented by leather handles. The wall is decorated with patterned wallpaper from Wall and Deco, on which an anthracite-upholstered continental bed stands out. Simple Italian gold tables with bird legs from Cassina serve as nightstands. In the walk-in closets, there is furniture made of layered veneer, stained to gray. This method belongs to unconventional techniques, creating a unique structure. Again, leather handles are used on the doors. In the center of the walk-in closet, there is a backlit island that contains storage space and also serves as a bench.
Bathroom to the Main Bedroom — The bathroom is dominated by gray concrete finish and ceramic tiles with patterns. The atypical shape of the bathtub placed under the skylight offers a view of the sky. The built-in bathtub is clad with veneered cladding. We again used a backlighting effect that creates a relaxing pleasant atmosphere when the main lighting is turned off. Next to the spacious shower is a steel structure housing a large stone sink and a black faucet. Built-in storage spaces in the wall can only be distinguished by the unconventional handles. An electric integrated bidet shower has been designed for the toilet.
Hall & Staircase — The spacious white hall highlights large art pieces, such as large-format paintings, a sculpture under the stairs, or an iron horse statue. The black steel railing structure ensures safe walking up and down the stairs, thanks to the weave of leather ropes. The added value is the backlit stairs, clad in natural oak wood. Large pivot doors that span the full height of the room dominate the entrance, framing the entire room like a picture.
Accessories — Throughout the interior, interior accessories from the LOOOOX showroom collection are used.
