Tattoo studio Lilith Urbanczyk
The tattoo studio of artist Lilith Urbanczyk is located in the ground floor space on Na Nábřeží Street in Havířov. Thanks to the owner's courage, a non-traditional colorful interior could be created that will engulf you with its creative atmosphere.
Designing the studio for my cousin and best friend was truly a joy for me. I tried to reflect her personality in the interior, which meant that we would definitely not be dealing with minimalist thoughts in this design.
At the beginning, we entered bare spaces with an office ceiling and two white columns. But we already knew that the white space would certainly not remain.
The columns with the cabinets helped us create an entrance hall and divided the space into several parts. Together with the turquoise reception, they separated the tattoo area from the entrance and seating. We placed the seating opposite the entrance with a striking rusty wall. On the other side, a drawing space was created and behind the column, there remained a space for storing things.
We chose quite bold colors, so much so that even the construction company was surprised at what kind of assignment they had. Even though the variety of colors in the interior might have seemed overly extravagant at first, the final realization exceeded our expectations and supported the creative atmosphere of the studio – dark blue tiled columns, red cabinets and window frames, turquoise reception, and light pink walls. Dominating opposite the entrance is a rusty plaster, which will someday be highlighted by a neon heart as a symbol of the studio. The studio's potential intimacy is ensured by curtains and partitions.
The last problem that remained for us was the unsightly office ceiling. We solved it with a suspended corrugated cardboard ceiling. We hung the corrugated ceiling with three people over three weekends using office staples and hooks for Christmas ornaments on the supporting structure of the office ceiling. The day after the ceiling was completed, the boiler exploded in the adjacent establishment, causing a pressure wave to shatter the shop window, but the cardboard ceiling remained undamaged.
