Triangle bungalow in Šenov

Triangle bungalow in Šenov
The family house in Šenov features a specific minimalist concept. The new building presents a strong set of cards right from the outset – that is, in the phase of mass declaration. The triangular volume does not represent a random outburst in the urban area, but rather a rational and thought-out reaction to the initial conditions (determined by its location, orientation, and brief...). The resulting shape of the building is preset to ensure that light (heat) is not only received but also appropriately regulated. For this purpose, the services of a cantilevered roof structure are utilized, which collaborates (in combination with the surrounding wall structures and reinforced surfaces) in the complete framing of the building. The result is an elegantly sealed structure (rhythmically fragmented in the floor plan) and a refreshing architectural contribution to the existing – pleasantly relaxed – development.

The family house in Šenov contains a cohesive residential unit of category 5+kk. The specific yet elementary form of the building is followed by pragmatic and orthogonally guided zoning. The object consists of two basic operational arms: the quiet zone (parallel to the street) and the social zone (perpendicular to the street and leading to the garden). The communication backbone is provided by straight corridors, corresponding to the conscious (practical) sizes of the individual operations. The profiling of the living rooms reflects both the local possibilities of the land and the specific requirements of the investors and the recommended typology.

The subsequent refinement of the façades is executed through clear perforation of the enclosing skin. The building intentionally lacks additional cladding (wood and stone are given a red light), and working with contrasting colors is also rejected. Material differentiation occurs only in the case of reinforced surfaces. Everything else is presented with white plaster.

The result is simple yet innovative for the given landscape. While in the winter months the building behaves like a chameleon and perfectly blends into its surroundings, in the remaining seasons of the year, the opposite is true. The house significantly impresses upon the immediate green embrace and shines discreetly here (to which the attractive forest background also contributes significantly).

The building is founded using strip foundations made of plain concrete – in combination with lost formwork. The load-bearing structure is composed of Porotherm ceramic block systems, supplemented with contact insulation made of EPS. The façades of the object are made of white pigmented plaster.

The load-bearing structure of the flat roof is designed as a steel-wood structure (steel beams with wooden trusses). The roof’s waterproofing is ensured with an mPVC foil. The windows and doors are plastic, glazed with insulating triple glazing.

The house is heated with Heatflow electric underfloor heating mats. The preparation of hot water and cooking is ensured by electricity.
