Underföhring Park Village

Underföhring Park Village
Architect: MVRDV
Address: Beta-Strasse, Munich, Germany
Completion:1.2001 - 3.2003

In the inhospitable environment on the outskirts of Munich, a modern office world has emerged. The Dutch office MVRDV and Lauber Architekten have created a new office world with their nineteen (the first phase with 9 buildings is already completed, and the second phase with 10 buildings is in preparation) buildings - a cheerful office village for small dynamic companies, where the facades are bustling with the most diverse colors and materials.

Distinct as well as diverse
Park Village forms an unmistakable complex, where the individual buildings shine just as brightly as the representative profile of the whole. It is an ideal place for young and modern companies in the media and services sector.
Nine buildings - each with its own identity. Park Village is a refreshing example of modern architecture catering to the needs of contemporary individuals. Instead of a uniform solution, Park Village offers a collection of nine buildings, whose differing facades ensure a lively diversity and individuality.
Nine buildings with different facades. From a harmonious wooden front to the futuristic-looking facade of the restaurant and the administration building. From a Southern European terracotta facade to reflecting high-tech glass walls. The diversity creates unique spaces and room for imagination and creativity.

Facade

Park Village embodies many aspects of modern business philosophy - globality, diversity, and creativity. Thanks to internationally oriented, open-minded, and creative young people, world commerce is born. Inspired by these individuals, Park Village was created, offering workplaces that meet their individual visions and support their personal development.
The vibrant urban structure of Park Village creates an interesting working environment rich in transformations. Its diverse composition stands in contrast to the usually emerging large monotonous projects.

Location

Many companies working in the media sector discovered Unterföhring as their headquarters as early as the 1950s. In 1962, Bayerische Rundfunk (Bavarian Broadcasting) and ZDF (Second German Television) moved here. Taurus-Film was the first of the companies of Kirch's media empire to settle here in 1972. Pro 7, Kabel 1, RTL 2, DSF, and Premiere followed, making Unterföhring the most important media location in Germany, from which decisive impulses spread into the world of economy and society.
Alongside a significant number of media institutions, world-renowned companies from the insurance sector such as Allianz and Swiss Re have also settled here.
