The new building of the rowing club is located in an exposed part of the waterfront on the Prague embankment in Smíchov.
The building has one underground and two above-ground floors. The basic materials chosen were a combination of concrete and steel complemented by wooden glazed facades.
The immediate proximity of water and the views from the opposite bank of the Vltava River influenced the architectural design, with the aim of orienting life in the building towards the river. The building's placement is subordinated to the direction of the river valley and the line of the embankment. The structure is situated parallel to the heavily trafficked coastal road, thus acting as a barrier between the street and the river and creating a calm and clean environment on the embankment, between the building and the river.
The height of the building does not exceed the level of the railing on the bridge, so it does not create an obstruction and does not hinder the view from the houses on the embankment.
The internal layout is designed such that all rooms have windows oriented towards the river, with a communication corridor crossing the center of the building open across both floors, while social and technical facilities are situated towards the coastal road.
The interior is directly connected to the external environment through sliding windows and bridges with wooden grids. The terrace on the ground floor connects the building to the river.
