Wine Showroom for the Zlati Grič WineryIn the space of the originally small building in Vinohrady, a large wine showroom for the Zlati Grič winery has emerged. The goal was to create a place that connects modern design with the tradition of Slovenian wines.
Zlati Grič Winery: History and Environmental InfluenceThe Zlati Grič winery is located in northeastern Slovenia, in the village of Slovenske Konjice, and boasts a winemaking tradition of over 800 years. It cultivates 80 hectares of vineyards, predominantly planted with white varieties such as Sauvignon, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Riesling.
The vineyards lie at an altitude of around 300 meters on medium-heavy sandy-clay soils, which, along with a combination of alpine and Pannonian climates, contributes to the unique character of the local wines. The winery offers a wide range of wines – from fresh and young to mature and archival.
Interior Design: The Fusion of Aesthetics and FunctionalityA fundamental requirement from the investors was for the interior to resonate aesthetically with the character of Zlati Grič wines – to appear exclusive while remaining natural and authentic. Therefore, we worked with principles of minimalism and raw materials that highlight their natural beauty. Steel structures were left exposed, including their connections, while the green tones of the interior evoke the vineyards and connect the space with the landscape.
The space was designed with an emphasis on functionality and visual clarity. A dominant green area seamlessly connects the individual parts of the interior, while subtle metal elements add lightness and structure. The shelving system is designed not only to display the wines but also to integrate them into the overall design.
Showroom LayoutA block has been inserted into the large space, making use of the high ceilings. Not only has practical back-of-house functionality in the form of a kitchenette and bar been created, but also new levels for seating and private meetings. The alteration of the original structure allowed for more efficient use of the overall space. The block naturally divides the area, creating a more intimate atmosphere while maintaining the spaciousness of the interior.
In the upper part of the space, there are seating arrangements designated for private meetings and business discussions. This area provides a calm environment, allows for focused work, and remains sufficiently separated from the main part of the showroom without losing connection with its dynamics.
The ground floor houses a fully equipped kitchenette, which serves for daily operations as well as potential catering for special events. The space is designed to be not only functional but also visually harmonious with the overall atmosphere of the showroom.
The bar, located beneath the television, offers flexible use – it can serve as a place for wine tasting or additional seating. Overall, the space is designed with a flexible concept that allows for diverse uses according to current needs.
Light and AtmosphereThe specific atmosphere is created by the lighting elements – from indirect LED lighting that highlights the lines of the space to a dominant pendant light whose organic shape references the movement of poured wine. The resulting showroom is not just a place for presenting wines, but also a modern space for gatherings and exploring wine culture.
Technology and SoundThe collaboration with the company Voix played a key role in the overall experience, providing sound for the space and integrating it into the Smart home system. The carefully selected audio system ensures a pleasant atmosphere and enhances the perception of the space and the wines being tasted.
Overall ImpressionThe interior appears elegant yet casual – the ideal setting for wine tasting. A modern approach to a traditional theme. Minimalist form, thoughtful details, and a reference to the landscape from which the wines originate. We worked with the contrast between industrial rawness and natural harmony, creating a space that emphasizes the uniqueness of Zlati Grič wines.
