1889 - Hans Emil Meyer was born on November 18 in Basel, Switzerland
1905-09 - he trained as a bricklayer, draftsman, site manager in Basel, and later attended "courses for construction enthusiasts" at the local technical school.
1909-12 - collaborated in the Berlin office of Albert Fröhlich and later Emil Schaudt. At the same time, he attended evening courses at the School of Applied Arts, where he graduated in stylistics, among other subjects.
1912-13 - internship in England, studying urbanism in Bath
1916 - assistant to architect Georg Metzendorf in Munich
from 1919 - worked as an architect in Basel
1927-30 - teacher of architecture (until March 31, 1928) and later successor of Walter Gropius as the director of the Dessau Bauhaus (until July 31, 1930). For political reasons, he was immediately dismissed from his position on August 1, 1930, in the absence of teachers and students.
1930-36 - professor of architecture at the Soviet Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering WASI in Moscow
