Biography
Jan Marian Matkowski is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at Wrocław University of Technology. Since the establishment of the chamber, he has been a member of the district qualification commission, serving several terms as its vice-chairman and has been its chairman since 2018. From 1981 to 1990, he worked as an assistant professor at the Institute of the History of Architecture and Technology at Wrocław University of Technology, where he led design courses together with Professor Jerzy Rozpędowski and Professor Stefan Müller. During his 48 years in the profession, he participated in architectural competitions in collaboration with Wrocław architects, implemented numerous construction and execution projects, and conducted author supervision over the realization of residential complexes, office buildings, shopping centers, as well as cultural, religious, and scientific and educational facilities. For his professional, social, and educational activities, he received the Wrocław Award, the Dean's Medal from the Faculty of Architecture at Warsaw University of Technology, and the Medal of the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland.
