1937 - Jose Rafael Moneo Vallés was born on May 9 in the Navarre town of Tudela
1961 - graduated from ETSAM in Madrid
1961-62 - worked for Danish architect Jørn Utzon
1963-64 - stay at the Spanish Academy in Rome
from 1965 - began at the studio of Francisco Sáenz de Oiza and later established his own architectural studio in Madrid
1980-84 - department of design at ETSAM in Madrid
1985-90 - head of the Department of Architecture at Harvard University
from 1990 - returned to his Madrid office while also being a professor at Harvard University
