Biography
Rudolf Bitzan is one of the most prominent architects of geometric Art Nouveau and early modernism in our territory. He studied at the industrial school in Liberec from 1890 to 1898 and then went on to study architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 1902, he was on a one-year internship in Freiburg, where he met Hermann Billing, with whom he later worked in the studio. In 1903, he settled in Dresden, where he worked with William Lossow, who greatly influenced his work. In 1907, Bitzan left Lossow and established his own practice.
