Biography
Thomas Vincent Emerson co-founded the studio 6a architects in London in 2001 with Stephanie Macdonald, which from the outset became one of the most recognized architectural firms in Britain. 6a architects has realized several contemporary art galleries in London, and in their designs, they focus on reusing existing elements or what is readily available. It is not just about the reuse of old buildings or their materials, but also about recycling stories that support the emergence of a new authorship approach. In 2012, 6a architects received the Schelling Medal for architecture and the National RIBA Award. In 2023, they were awarded the Tessenov Medal and elected as members of the Royal Academy in London. Since 2010, he has served as a professor of architecture at ETH Zurich, where he was appointed dean in 2021.
