Original state
The building is located in a heterogeneous complex of buildings forming an island in a sea of fields between Opava and Otice. It stands almost at the top of an ascending terrain and is well visible from all directions. The original two-story office building with a flat roof was in a state of disrepair before the reconstruction and was used only partially. In terms of layout, it comprises a single-nave space with four strips. The load-bearing structure consists of a precast reinforced concrete skeleton in a 6 x 6 meter module with longitudinal beams and reinforced concrete ceiling panels, a two-armed reinforced concrete staircase with a steel supporting structure. The building was fitted with wooden windows and clad in sandwich panels.

Form
The building is topped with an extension of an elevated prism with a mono-pitched roof. The raised middle finger, a phallic symbol of business potential, is also a logical gradation of the terrain configuration. The prism is designed as a solid seamless mass of polycarbonate joined by tongue and groove, which partially forms a transparent wall in the meeting room, stairwell, and service apartment and partially serves as a façade protruding in front of the wall painted in the company’s yellow color. Ambient lighting is placed around the entire perimeter of the resulting interspace, and at night, the glowing prism hovers above the ground. The installation of advertising signs is anticipated. The entrance hall is also designed in polycarbonate, thus materially separating the original building from the newly designed masses.
The mass of the original building is insulated in contact and painted in the company’s blue color. The façade is divided into several levels; the main structure level comprises a regular grid of opening windows that follows the rhythm of the skeleton, while the second level consists of glazed "holes" - surfaces of the new mass. The size of openings in the original part is derived from the modulation of the sandwich panels.

Content
The strips with a staircase, vertical and horizontal communication with sanitary facilities, divide the building into two parts on each floor. Offices are located on the first and second floors, while the extension contains a meeting room and a service apartment.
