Architectural solution of the exhibition "Czech Theatre Photography"

The summary exhibition of photographs from the Czech theater environment at the Municipal House represents one hundred years of theatrical development in our territory. The design of the historical part of the installation, an enlarged bellows of a camera made from OSB boards, connects the themes of theater and photography. The self-supporting laced structure offers exhibition space for the placement of sensitive photographs and objects with specific lighting requirements. The regular pattern of doors on the sides connects the chronologically arranged exhibition into thematic units. The material refers to the carpentry tradition of making theatrical backdrops. The lens of the built-in camera points toward the elevated rear room – the stage. Here, there is an open space with a photo studio that serves for lectures, workshops, and other accompanying programs.
