Apartment in Smíchov

The apartment in a tenement house from 1893 in Smíchov was created by combining two smaller, originally working-class apartments in the second half of the last century. A shower corner and a sink in the kitchen date back to the same time. The toilet was in the hallway. In our design, we aimed to turn the disadvantages of the apartment into advantages. The location on the first floor directly called for a "French" window that would connect the living kitchen and the garden in the courtyard. Thanks to the possibility of running sewage pipes in the basement, it was not difficult to establish a new bathroom and toilet in the apartment. Humidity and temperature in the apartment are regulated by heating from stoves, which could be connected to the original chimney flue.
