In forestry, abbreviations do not exist. Forest as a cycle of economic activities.
The exhibition "Doing Forest" is based on the current state of forestry. It presents the main moments of forest production, care for the forest, and logging. The visual material for the exhibition was created over the course of one year. It became a temporal compression of the century-long cycle of the forest. It captures the process of growing a tree, the moment of felling, and the transformation into wood material.
The exhibition reflects the cultural understanding of the forest. We walk through an urban environment, exhibition objects that refer, both in their visual and structural character, to the "temples" of our civilization. The photographic approach challenges the dichotomy of nature - culture, art - industry. The view of the forest is anthropocentric. It concerns the economic forest.
By emphasizing the activities that influence the function of forests, we open a debate on the nature of human intervention. We hope for social responsibility and a long-term concept of forestry that preserves the complex significance of the forest in both natural and cultural contexts.
