The location where the land with the house is situated is on the edge of a residential neighborhood adjacent to a park. The plot is located at the foot of a hill, with the front part of the land being flat and the back part on a steep incline. We embedded the house into the slope from the rear and side, and opened it up towards the garden and park thanks to the terrain. The house was partly created by recycling the load-bearing structures of the original house, which was not well positioned on the plot, its architecture and layout were complicated, and its operation was impractical. We did not want to demolish the original house entirely; we aimed to be sustainable and utilize some of its load-bearing structures. We designed a completely new house, incorporating the recycled parts of the original load-bearing structures into the design.

We oriented the house's main facades to the south, towards the park and our own garden, with beautiful views from both floors into the greenery. We designed a rectangular ground-level mass, which we positioned at the street line, creating a clear connection of the house to the roadway. In the central part, we placed an outdoor patio with a tree, which lightens the house. The first floor mass is placed above the ground level, cantilevered over the garden, while towards the street it is recessed into the back part behind the atrium. The views outside are softened by a green roof with trees above the ground floor.

We envisioned clear sightlines and views through the house into the greenery of our own garden, the atrium, and the surrounding park. We connected the entrance hall with an outdoor atrium that illuminates the central part of the house. From this central point of the entire layout, there are entries into the living area with kitchen and dining room, the staircase to the first floor, as well as to other areas on the ground floor like the sauna, study, restroom, garage, and technical facilities of the house. On the first floor, the bedrooms, study, and bathrooms are located. The house opens up to the garden on both floors with glazing featuring slender frames.
