Designing the interior of a new development project can sometimes be a puzzle; a clean environment without a connection to the past doesn’t offer many clues for the design. However, when you meet clients who are not afraid of unconventional solutions, the standard brief transforms into a pure creative joy. In this case, it was a collaboration from the dream category – with people you connect with so well that you genuinely look forward to every meeting and want to imprint something truly unique into the design. The result is a functional minimalist space that, instead of design clichés, bets on one strong, industrially toned element.

The main hero and unifying motif of the entire apartment became perforated lacquered sheet metal in a gentle green shade. We didn’t want it to function just as a pointless decoration, so we found applications for it everywhere that aesthetics naturally meets function. In the main social area, a rounded kitchen island serves as a dominant feature. Material-wise, it is complemented by the white version of the sheet metal in the upper part of the kitchen setup, where it elegantly addresses hidden ventilation above the built-in refrigerator and ovens.

The same principle also flows through the private zones. In the bedroom, we designed airy folding doors for a wardrobe from white perforated metal, allocated for “dirty” clothes – ideally supporting air circulation and solving the eternal puzzle of where to put things that don't yet belong in the washing machine, but also not back among the clean laundry.

A separate chapter is written by the living space with a deep window recess. We transformed it into seating, where the lower structure with perforated fronts of the pull-outs partially covers the heating and allows warmth to flow freely. It’s a perfect spot for morning coffee or evening reading. The window offers a fascinating, almost cinematic view of the nearby track, where trains pass by in a regular rhythm.

In the hallway, the green sheet metal forms the side of the shoe cabinet, which with a little imagination serves as a creative wall for family magnets or hooks for keys. The entrance space is further enhanced by a subtle coat rack structure and an elegant white bench, whose rounded corners material-wise and shape-wise communicate with the kitchen island.
