The task was to modify the 16th floor of the rental office building
Lighthouse in Holešovice into modern offices for our long-term client – Pharmaswiss.
We were entrusted with a large degree of freedom and a bright, fully glazed space with incredible views of Prague. This led to a completely transparent concept of glass frameless partitions that allow plenty of light into the deep interiors while also not obstructing views of the surrounding city. A certain degree of privacy for individual offices is ensured, upon request, with a subtle print on the glass featuring a stroboscopic effect (if you move, you can see through the image; when you stop, you see much less).
The block of technical rooms inside the floor plan was painted in the typical red color of lighthouses and wrapped in softly shaped transparent roller blinds, behind which a capacitive archive, a retractable kitchen, and a copy center were created. The backlighting of these blinds creates the basic evening light in the space and gives a sense of a real "Lighthouse," visible from afar at night.
Atypical interior: Tunnel – Petr Strejček
Furniture: Konsepti, Vitra
Glass partitions: Ru2
