The original building by Swiss architect
Ernst Gisel dates back to 1971. From the beginning, the object included worship spaces, facilities for guest accommodation, and a pastor's apartment. The new project preserves the original substance to the maximum extent and addresses deficiencies through modifications without demanding interventions. An elevator has been installed for barrier-free operation. The area in front of the building's entrance has been paved and covered with a glass marquee. The bell tower, 26 meters high, is incorporated into the views of the access routes. The rough structure of the bearing walls of the extension made of TESUZ blocks is applied in the interior, while the exterior facade layer with thermal insulation is formed by horizontal wooden slats. An extension of the wing on the first basement level is still awaiting realization; its roof will be part of the church garden.
