Lusso Caffe, Zlín
Collaboration:Petr Zámečník, Klára Lukešová
Address: Tř. Tomáše Bati 627, Zlín, Czech Republic
Project:2016
Completion:2016

The Lusso Caffe café is located on Tomáš Baťa street in Zlín and was created thanks to the impulse of an investor whose major hobbies include good coffee and beautiful cars. The atmosphere of technology, speed, and the smell of gasoline permeates this place naturally since the café is located in close proximity to many car dealerships and services that line the main road through Zlín.
The interior concept of the café is based on the architectural and material solutions of the existing building. It is a reinforced concrete skeleton, the outer walls of which are made of lime-sand bricks. Concrete and brickwork extend into the interior of the café, complemented by oak wood, glass, and metal. The ceiling of the café consists of wooden slats that improve acoustics and also incorporate lighting and sound systems for the space.
Emphasis was also placed on the organization of operations and seating. Along the western wall of the building, comfortable armchair seating areas for private meetings have been arranged, while a small lounge is located at the back of the café. The front part of the space by the glass wall is equipped with light mobile chairs and tables, creating a multifunctional area that, in addition to the café's operations, offers the possibility for autograph signings, bartending shows, or various corporate events. The glass sliding wall in the summer months allows for a complete connection between the front space of the café and the terrace. This gives the whole place a different kind of atmosphere and provides visitors with the opportunity to quietly and comfortably observe the bustling life of the regional city.
