The family house set in the landscape of the Český ráj region is primarily about the location. The expansive, south-facing sloping plot with a view into the valley provided an exceptional opportunity to create a home that would engage in a natural dialogue with the landscape.

From the beginning, it was essential to properly address the placement of the house on the plot as well as the access road, ensuring that the building respected the terrain, preserved open views, and at the same time offered enough privacy for a family of four and their three canine companions.

The simple linear bungalow with a gabled roof feels surprisingly calm. The black metal roof, dark columns, facade, and window frames create the character of a modern "blackhouse," which stands confidently yet naturally against the greenery of the forest. The property also includes a garage building in the same architectural language, nicely balancing the whole.

One entire facade is generously glazed, opening the house to the surrounding garden. Large glass areas ensure perfect views and connect the interior with the exterior. The house thus literally lives with the landscape. The outdoor living area creates a natural continuation of the living space. In the summer months, the house opens wide, and the boundary between the house and garden disappears. It is living in the garden in the truest sense of the word.

The main living space is open and bright. Its heart is the kitchen with a large island, a place for gathering, cooking, and everyday sharing. A dominant feature of the living area is the fireplace, which adds coziness to the space and enhances the "mountain lodge" atmosphere in a modern, Nordic, minimalist interpretation.

The interior is tuned to a light palette. White walls, white wooden paneling, bleached oak flooring, and exposed white beams under the gabled roof reference Nordic style. Black details subtly connect with the exterior and unify the entire concept.

The house is simple but thoughtfully designed down to the details. The result is a home that offers daily contact with nature, light, and the changing dynamics of the forest. A place where life unfolds slowly. A house that naturally blends into its surroundings while remaining distinctive. A beautiful house in a beautiful location.
