New branch of Česká spořitelna in Tanvald

The newly built branch of Česká spořitelna, a.s. is located in the center of Tanvald on Krkonošská Street, which is the main road to Harrachov. The buildings here typically have two above-ground floors and an attic. Their character is diverse – ranging from hints of Art Nouveau to functionalism.
The structure has a basic mass formally divided into a higher longitudinal section, longer side oriented to the south (toward the parking lot), and a lower section on the north side. The two-story part aligns in height with the main cornice of the neighboring building, and the ground floor aligns with the adjacent cornice at the location of the window sills on the 2nd floor of the neighboring building. The facades feature glazed and solid surfaces grouped into larger units, thereby adapting the scale to the character of the bank's building. The narrow tall glazing facing the street emphasizes the entrance to the branch.
The building is designed as energy-efficient, which is reflected in the architectural solution. On the two-story part, a double-glazed energy facade is proposed on the south side, which among other things utilizes solar energy for heating through air conditioning. The lowered terrain on the property compared to the street has been utilized for the construction of an accumulation register under the ground floor, which serves for natural winter preheating and summer pre-cooling of the air, drawn into the air conditioning system.
