The Jewish industrialist family Neumark operated in Brno from the 1880s until 1939. Their textile business was a significant employer and exporter, and the monumental factory building at the corner of Dornych and Přízová streets shaped the character of this part of Brno. The family supported the evangelical congregation of which they were members, and Walter Neumark was, among other things, the British honorary consul in Brno. The day after the occupation of Brno on March 16, 1939, Walter Neumark committed suicide. In September 1939, the family emigrated to Switzerland. After the war, Otto Neumark took over the management of the company, but by 1946 the business was nationalized.

The original grave of the Neumark family was located in the oldest part of the cemetery complex, in group 6. However, in April 1987, a mass destruction of these graves occurred. After the remains of the Neumark family were relocated, the new burial site is located in group 106, row 1, grave numbers 98-100.
The appearance of the original gravestone of the Neumark family from 1906 is now known only from descriptions and a collection of photographs capturing the burial site immediately after its destruction. The gravestone featured the signature LOOS, which was the brand of the stonemason workshop Adolf Loos Witve.

The regional councilor Michal Doležel decided to save and restore the forgotten grave. He rented the site for another hundred years, collaborated with the family, and organized an architectural competition for the design of the gravestone. He then organized a fundraising campaign for the realization of the gravestone.
The structure of the gravestone is inspired by the texture of woven fabric, but its appearance also vaguely references the shapes of the original gravestone.
The area of the burial site is newly bordered by a concrete curb. The stone is medium gray granite Tarn. The horizontal surface alternates between protruding stone beams and recessed areas. There are seven recessed fields, and in the third quarter of the distance from the edge of the grave, they rise like pillars to a height of 1.3 meters. In each pillar, one letter of the surname N E U M A R K is carved. The inscription is executed in Staatliches script. At the front of the grave, there is a transverse beam laid across, on which the names of the buried are engraved.
