It was our honor to work on the reconstruction of the interior of an apartment from the 1930s in the
“Sklenák” building in Dejvice, with partially preserved period elements. The investor was a visual artist, open, sensitive, attentive, and inspiring. We began with cleaning and removing inappropriate elements, searching for complementary shapes and materials. We aimed to build upon the original design by architect
R.F. Podzemný and humbly add new elements. We adapted the layout of the apartment to meet contemporary demands, aiming to connect the spaces as much as possible. We sought suitable - cost-effective - materials, colors, and surfaces while trying to suppress tempting snobbish solutions for the space. We collaborated with excellent craftsmen who helped us realize the design with honor, and we hope that Mr.
Podzemný would be pleased.
The project collaborators included:
Bronislav Stratil, Vladimír Bachorik
