Renovation and expansion of the printing facility

The object is part of the printing press complex, which is undergoing gradual renovation. It is the former industrial complex of the State Research Institute of Colors and Paints. During the socialist management, there was a degradation of the industrial first-republic buildings in the complex due to unregulated construction activities. The design cleanses, reveals, and emphasizes the charm of simplicity and the essence of the reinforced concrete skeleton of the historic building. All construction interventions are subordinated to a clearly defined order. Distinctly defined new elements such as the vestibule, staircase, and social facilities complement the already completed structure. The functional use of the space can be adapted to the current requirements of the printing press operations, creating a universal office space. Due to its location, the object serves as the representative entry point of the utilized ensemble of buildings, which is reflected in the elegant color scheme of the facades and interior spaces.
