Regional Tourist Information Center Turnov

The space intended for the regional information center of the town of Turnov is located at the Český ráj Square in the city center, in a prominent location. Its position is advantageous for both local residents who use the services offered and for tourists who come to visit the city and its surroundings.
Our solution is based on the given possibilities of the space. The most significant intervention is the connection with the existing restaurant spaces. This will allow for the expansion to include a visitor center that will provide information about the history, crafts (stone masonry, jewelry, etc.), and the beauty of the nearby area (Český ráj). In this enlarged space, which will be visually connected to the information center, short-term exhibitions can also take place using suspended sliding systems. There will also be a so-called relaxation zone where tourists can have light refreshments or visit the restroom. The entire space should be equipped with free access to WiFi. The area will be furnished with portable seating (ottomans with the RTIC logo) and tables at two height levels.
We did not want to design the visitor center as a museum, but as a "taste" of what Turnov has to offer. Therefore, we want to showcase individual themes more from a practical usage perspective rather than as exhibits in specialized museums. Climbing – a rock with examples of anchors, summit logs, or knot tying; crafts – a tree of fruits by local artists or schools; garnets – an opportunity to try finding them in a panning area.
