The addressed object with a bar, café, and gaming room is located in the center of Mnichovo Hradiště, in close proximity to the Church of St. James and T.G. Masaryk Square. The main mass of the building is part of a compact street row of houses, which is interrupted at the southern neighbor by a passage. The existing building consisted of a street mass with a gabled roof supplemented by an annex towards the back of the property. The annex was removed during reconstruction and replaced with a new two-story flat-roof structure throughout the entire depth of the plot. The street façade, including the dormer, was simplified and cleaned of non-original layers from past years; a new cornice corresponding to the character of the surrounding buildings was designed, the colorfulness was muted, and the ground floor was emphasized.
Operationally, the building functions as a beverage bar - café, where it is possible to separate operations by individual floors and respond to current capacity needs. In both floors, the center of operation is the bar, complemented by seating at tables and in soft seating furniture.
The architectural and especially operational design was created in direct dialogue with the investor, who supported the final result with an emphasis on detail during execution and selection of precise suppliers. The investor's requirement for a “
nautical atmosphere” was not fulfilled explicitly but in the form of hints in colorfulness and graphics. All interior elements, except for the seating furniture, were realized as atypical, as was the case with the graphic design. The overall atmosphere of the interior is favorably complemented by two marine aquariums.
