House
This is a reconstruction of part of the interior of a family house that was completed around the turn of the millennium, and the layout and aesthetics reflected that. Fortunately, the house is in an exceptional location and basically functioned well, even though we could certainly imagine a different, better arrangement.
We were asked to help with the optimization of the existing space, and the client did not wish for large construction changes. The current owners have been living in the house for several years and during that time they have experienced its livability, so at our first meeting they showed us and listed several places and points they were not satisfied with. We added a few more and gradually sought answers to them.
The task was to furnish and make comfortable the part of the house that visitors enter, the social zone.
Starting from the entrance, which is very important to the house, the guest room, the kitchen with dining area, and ending with the main living room. It was important to know the actual pathways, which doors are unnecessary, and where more are needed. Where the floor is cold, where one wishes to look while cooking, where to look from the armchair, where music will be listened to, where the family will gather for Christmas, etc.
In addition, we solved the lighting anew and connected designated areas in the house with an audio/video system.

Materials
The interior was to be functional, high-quality in craftsmanship, warm, and bright.
As the main material for the furniture, we chose oiled solid oak, for the wardrobes and kitchen bodies vanilla laminate, and for the floors light grey terrazzo. Some parts and smaller pieces of furniture are in a matte colored lacquer. Most items are designed and produced atypically, including all handles, doors, lighting, the oak table and notice board in the dining room, or a crocheted pouf and coffee table in the living room, a mirror with a bulb in the hallway...
