Reconstruction of a panel apartment, Prague-Motol

Reconstruction of a panel apartment, Prague-Motol
Disposition
The original layout of the apartment was completely unsuitable for the owner, and it was changed entirely except for two rooms - the bedroom and the study, which remained in the original floor plan.
The kitchen was connected to the living room by knocking down the partition wall between them.
The arrangement of the hallway and the sanitary facility was also altered.
The bathroom was enlarged to accommodate both a shower and a bathtub. The toilet remained separated. A cleaning cupboard was also created for placing the washing machine and cleaning supplies.

Kitchen and Living Room
The kitchen was designed with plenty of storage space. At the owner's request, a small bar counter was created here, with a wine fridge hidden in the corner underneath it. A glass backlit panel was used for the surface behind the sink. The dining area flows seamlessly from the kitchen. There is a round dining table made from the same material as the kitchen. Above it, there is a glass chandelier.
The living room is only visually separated by a sofa. A solid wall was created on the opposite side, along with additional necessary storage spaces. The investor's wish was to place a bioethanol fireplace and an aquarium here. Special measures were needed for the fireplace to prevent overheating of the furniture - an air gap was created, and ventilation openings were added to the front of the surround. Special measures were also required for the aquarium - a stronger load-bearing structure embedded in the furniture and a framework for lighting and other necessary elements.

Hallway
From the hallway, there is access to all rooms in the apartment. The door to the toilet is hidden in a cabinet. There are cabinets for cleaning supplies, towels, etc., all appearing as one large block. Additionally, there is a larger wardrobe for coats and shoes. A mirrored cabinet has also been created here, featuring hooks for hanging bags inside. In the upper part, it conceals the electrical cabinet.

Bathroom
The layout had to be designed so that both a bathtub and a shower could fit. This was ultimately achieved by moving the toilet farther from the core. A shower corner was created in the original toilet's place.

Bedroom
The bedroom was designed in a simple style. Built-in closets in white are placed across one wall. The closets were designed in the same manner as those in the hallway - the doors to the room are also hidden here. Hooks for robes, etc., are placed on the side walls of the passage. Opposite the bed, there is a cabinet prepared for placing a television in the future.

Study
The owner is a great lover of books, so it was necessary to create a large library. The library occupies an entire wall of the study. There is also a reading chair with an ottoman in the study. In the future, a fold-out sofa for accommodating guests will also be placed here.

Materials
The wish was to create an apartment in simple colors, combining white and an oak shade. The floors are made of bleached oak. The tiles and wall coverings in the bathroom, toilet, and hallway were chosen in large format in a very light beige shade. All the furniture was custom-made by a carpenter; oak veneer was used in combination with white.

Construction Works
A complete replacement of the electrical wiring was carried out, along with new water and sewage installations. The original floors were completely demolished, unfortunately, as they were at various height levels, so they had to be leveled with screeds.
