Reconstruction of a First Republic house in a picturesque valley

A small interwar recreational building, located in a valley through which a lively stream flows not far from Prague, has recently undergone a sensitive reconstruction. During the reconstruction, the original staircase and the overall mass of the house were preserved with respect, adding to the object's characteristic atmosphere and historical charm, providing an ideal environment for recreation and relaxation. Other elements were modernized to meet today's demands for comfort and aesthetics. The solution improved the use of the house, connecting the main living room with the garden and ensuring the necessary technical background for contemporary needs.

The entrance to the house leads through a spacious veranda into a hallway, which provides a pleasant welcome. It is followed by a comfortable bathroom equipped with a modern shower and toilet. The core of the house is the newly connected space of the kitchen and living area, which opens with French windows to a picturesque garden. This space is designed with an emphasis on lightness and airiness, dominated by a library with comfortable seating by the window, perfect for relaxing with a book in hand. The open layout connects individual functional zones, with a combination of wooden elements and neutral tones creating a pleasant atmosphere.

Upstairs, there are two spacious bedrooms, one of which has access to the veranda, allowing for morning coffee with a view of the valley. Each bedroom is designed with an emphasis on maximum comfort and simplicity, while their atmosphere is complemented by a combination of soft natural materials and a subtle color palette. The windows allow plenty of daylight and offer views of the surrounding scenery, connecting the interior with the exterior. The space is complemented by built-in wardrobes in a gray finish, providing ample storage space while not disrupting the overall aesthetic of the area. In addition to the built-in elements, small design details have been incorporated into the bedrooms that give the space a distinctive character.

Overall, the interior is styled in modest colors, dominated by gray, wood, and white. The built-in furniture and doors are executed in a uniform gray color, lending the space an elegant and clean appearance. The house has been sensitively renovated to respect its original character, yet it feels modern and timeless. From the outside, it attracts attention with the contrast between its white façade and prominent yellow windows, giving the house an unmistakable character. The simple façade is complemented by quality materials and precise details that together create an aesthetically and functionally balanced whole. The house is located among similar buildings with gardens, which gives it a natural context within the surrounding development. The garden has been designed with regard to the surrounding environment and provides privacy, with carefully selected plants and natural elements such as stone paths and a terrace contributing to harmony with the neighboring houses. The exterior also features a new fence made of concrete slabs, which is a reminiscence of the original concrete enclosure and sensitively complements the overall appearance of the house.
