Reconstruction of the Roztoky Villa

The reconstruction in the center of Roztok was a very specific task: the historic villa underwent a major renovation only in 2015, when distinctive corten additions were made. However, relatively soon after, it changed owners, who needed to adapt the house for life with small children. Therefore, we approached our role in the construction development as a delicate addition of a new layer and overall cultivation – not a denial of the previous work.
The main interventions involved making the attic livable, where we designed a new dormer and roof as a whole. In the second floor, there was a subtle adjustment of the layout and a new solution for the interior as a whole. An important part was the comprehensive modification of the staircase, from functional design to its form and details. As part of the renovation, the terrace was also cultivated and the windows were replaced.
