Restaurant, terrace, and fitness in Kotva

The restaurant on the terrace of the Kotva department store in Prague draws from the dark genius loci of the building. The industrial-woodworking world of pergolas, furniture, staircases, and children's climbing structures connects with the rooftop landscape of the object, which represents a controversial yet striking architecture amidst the historical surroundings. We aimed to change little, to add little, rather to cleanse and refurbish the existing structures of the hexagonal mushroom-like ceilings and to enliven the roof offering a beautiful and unusual view of the Old Town. The combination of raw concrete constructions and dark wood creates the charisma of the restaurant, which specializes in exceptional types of beer. A branded fitness center one floor below expands the range of services and entertainment offered by the department store. The interior works with natural elements, materials, and colors, and after its opening, it has become a sought-after and fashionable spot. The bar is made of cast unrefined concrete, and the wooden floor in the open area amplifies the space. Next to the gym itself, there is also a dance hall.
