With reference to last year's
realization by RIMOWA CZ in Pelhřimov, we present the completion of this company's area, which has been named RIMOWA City. This implementation involves building a complex at one location that includes not only the final manufacturer, which is RIMOWA CZ, known for producing luxury suitcases and luggage, but also supporting subcontracting companies such as Arla (Sweden), Südhaus Plamet (Germany), and Liwa CZ (Czech Republic). All the mentioned companies have secured their place in this town through the outlined project, thereby optimizing the internal transportation of materials and products. The effectiveness of this move is evident.
The positioning of the facility for Arla, Südhaus Plamet, and the building for Liwa CZ is separated from the original RIMOWA CZ building by a city road, which connects the Arla company with RIMOWA CZ through an underground tunnel link. In the current days, the intelligent transport system will be upgraded to include connections to Südhaus Plamet and Liwa CZ. Arla manufactures polycarbonate sheets, while both additional companies assist in supplying interior fittings for the suitcases. The structure of the halls remains calm and unobtrusive in form, and in material continuity with the parent building. Thus, they consist of reinforced concrete skeletons and insulated metal cladding with characteristic longitudinal ribbing that corresponds with the ribbing of the suitcases themselves. The buildings are primarily heated by air handling units with integrated recovery systems and respect the different air exchange requirements at individual workstations. The building for Arla and Südhaus Plamet also maintains a simple color composition in the form of an aluminum suitcase imitation, while the standalone building for Liwa CZ dares to differ in color and surface treatment of its administrative facade, introducing the first excitement in the form of an orange color accent.
The administrative facilities and employee support areas once again play with sufficient glazing both to the exterior and interior. The interior is enriched with a number of atypical elements that are also part of the design. The entire composition is gradually complemented by the already built parking area for RIMOWA CZ and a newly constructed parking area for Liwa CZ. The town also features an internal information system that adequately orients visitors in the space.
Planning for additional buildings is already underway, including a main three-story warehouse that will be connected by an underground intelligent conveyor system to the existing buildings. Furthermore, there are plans to reconstruct the original site located nearby for two additional subcontracting companies that would supply external components for the suitcases into the system. The complexity of this plan, the speed of implementation, the growing significance of the global brand RIMOWA, the existence of a RIMOWA shop on Pařížská Street in Prague, and the increase in production at RIMOWA CZ all evoke respect on all fronts and enhance the Czech part of the entire company, which operates not only in its original headquarters in Cologne, Germany, but also has manufacturing plants in Canada and Brazil, complemented by a network of nearly sixty renowned shopping centers worldwide.
