The recently completed beach volleyball complex in Pelhřimov includes two outdoor and two indoor courts, sufficient club facilities for players, social facilities, and a wellness area on the ground floor of the clubhouse. The operation of the complex called for the necessity of constructing accommodation facilities, which logically complements the entire complex. Principally, it was not possible to carry out new construction outside the enclosed plot, and therefore the authors proposed a building that rises above the existing parking lot.
It is a simple composition with a central airy cantilever staircase set between two reinforced concrete blocks of the entire facility. The open design of the staircase is emphasized by a glass roof. This composition rests on two uneven blocks, which cover the parking lot on the ground floor and house the rooms on the other two floors.
Rooms have been chosen at the level of medium hotel equipment. The whole solution relies on custom interior furnishings that adequately address not only sleeping arrangements but also storage spaces, as well as complete social facilities. The facility has a total of 10 double rooms, most of which have a folding extra bed available.
The structural solution uses a reinforced concrete wall structure, which is insulated on both sides with a vapor barrier and diffusion foil. Everything is covered with wood cladding, which is omitted in the window strips of the rooms and conversely transitions in a sparser form over the corridor windows.
The short operation of the complex has verified the functionality of the entire composition, both for parking and for the accommodation itself.
