A needle in the haystack of entrepreneurial baroque, which you do not have to search for. The house lives in symbiosis with the southern slope and with views of the Opava Highlands. Its distinct forms explore, emphasize, and do not overpower the morphology of the terrain...
The three basic volumes are compositionally and materially distinct. At the street access level, there is a single-story garage volume clad with brick strips and a single-story business space volume clad with cembonit panels, with a forecourt for clients' parking. The terrain configuration allows for these volumes in the northern part to be completely sunk into the slope, thus creating a natural separation between public space and the private part on the upper floor. These two lower volumes "frame" a single-armed outdoor staircase leading to the residential part of the family house. The residential parts of the family house are located in a partially two-story prism set on a prism with business spaces. All living spaces have a direct connection to the terrain or to the roof terrace. This includes a shower cubicle on the top floor, opening up to views through a rear glazed wall. From this plastered "living" prism, a sloped volume of the staircase clad with cembonit panels is "projected" towards the east.
The house meets low-energy standards, and heating is provided by a ground-water heat pump.
