The aim of the project is the design of a newly built family house within the framework of other family houses at the intersection of Farská and Zahradní streets in Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. Emphasis is placed on connecting original shapes and materials with new shapes and materials that will highlight the traditional character of the building while enriching it with modern elements. The main section of the house follows the position of the original structure that stood on the site and is complemented by two lateral wings extending into the garden. This creates a central atrium with seating. The connection of the atrium with the interior is achieved through large glass surfaces, which visually expands the interior and turns it into another outdoor room. The attic of the house is fully dedicated to children - it contains only children's rooms and a bathroom. The roofs of the single-storey wings function as green roofs, above the garage with a residential terrace.
Entrance to the family house is possible from two directions. Both entrances lead into a foyer equipped with wardrobes and seating options. The entrance hall forms the center of the house. On the right side, there is access to a cloakroom and to the private wing, while the social area is situated on the left. To the right of the entrance hall is a hallway leading to a garage for two vehicles. Another room is the master bedroom. From the bedroom, there is access to a generous bathroom with a bathtub, shower, two sinks, and a toilet combined with a bidet. On the opposite side is a walk-in closet. Next to the bedroom is an office, which can serve as a guest room if needed.
The left wing consists of one large social space, which includes a spacious kitchen, dining room, and living room. The kitchen is equipped with a large central island that serves not only to extend the kitchen workspace but also as additional dining space. The kitchen flows seamlessly into the dining room with a massive wooden dining table for eight people. Between the dining room and the living room are stove tiles on one side and a piano on the other. The living room has a raised ceiling with a circular window (rose) in the gable.
The staircase from the living room leads to a hallway in the attic, from which the children's rooms, the bathroom, and the terrace are accessed.
The layout of the house is complemented by the garden design. The most important space becomes the atrium, which serves social and representative functions while also expanding the living area of the house. Close to the atrium and in immediate connection with the kitchen, there is a herb and vegetable garden in three beds. The garden space is enclosed by a slope with greenery that acts as an optical barrier. In the slope, a small stone cellar is designed for storing game, delicacies, and beverages. The garden is separated from the street by a wooden fence with a gate and outdoor parking space.
